L'atelier is our remedial course! Something wasn't clear during class? Yourpirouettes tend to stay pretty much on the ground? Pas de bourrée sounds horrifying? Come and take this hour of Atelier! We'll review the basics, following a schedule that's right below.:)
Semaine 1: Posture, les 5 positions pieds et bras, pliés et relevés. Les 6 ports de bras Vaganova.
Semaine 2: Les bases de Cechetti (bras et tête). Tendus, dégagés, frappés.
Semaine 3: Retirés, passés, développés, préparation pirouette.
Semaine 4: Coups de pied, fondus, développés, grands battements, attitudes.
Semaine 5: Pas de bourrée, pas de valse, pas de basque, arabesque.
Semaine 6: Tombés, pas de bourrée, pirouette en-dehors.
Semaine 7: Chassé, préparation, pirouette en-dedans.
Semaine 8: Glissés, assemblés, sissones.
Semaine 9: Grand jeté développé, grand jeté battement, grand assemblé tourné, jeté entrelacé.
Semaine 10: Jetés, changements, entrechats, pas de chat.
Semaine 11: Adages, arabesques II
Semaine 12: Pirouettes, prise 2: soutenus, piqués, chaînés.
Semaine 13: Petits allegro, grands allegro.
Semaine 14: Révision et travail individuel.
SANS CHICHIS CLASS
OUR SIGNATURE "SANS CHICHIS" CLASS (which means "hassle-free!) offers a sweet combination of work-out inspired by ballet, in the center of the room - warm-up, strenght training and flexibility). Then, we get to the barres to learn a little technique - but nothing too complicated! this class is perfect to start at ballet Hop! and has the reputation of being pretty low-key and fun.
PETITE TECHNIQUE CLASS
PETITE TECHNIQUE is your "seen in the movies", "dreamed-of since i was young" technical ballet class. We warm up, we take on a full-lenght barre, we move towards the center and really dance. We end this with a fun diagonal and reverence just for fun. this class is intented for those who are starting out, or if you'd like to review your basics. this is a beginner level class.
MOYENNE TECHNIQUE CLASS
MOYENNE TECHNIQUE follows petite nicely and develops even more your dance, musicality and interpretation skills. we now inclde frappés and ronds de jambe en l'air, for example, and we spend more time in the center. we'll complexify jumps, adages and allegros, but we'll have enough time to really explain new movements and steps! this is an intermediate-level class.
(ALMOST) GRANDE TECHNIQUE CLASS
Our (Presque) grande technique aims to develop the difficulty of the exercises at the barre as well as speed up the explanations so we can dance even more! For this class, we consider that you already know posture, positions, every barre exercise, classic routines, most jumps and pirouettes. We have longer adages, quicker allegros and clever grand allegros in diagonal. Such a bliss to feel like you're truly dancing. this is an intermediate-advanced class that doesn't take itself too seriously. we warn you though, it'll be fast! Also, this class can be taken on pointe.
CLASSE PETITES POINTES
have you always dreamed of putting on the mythical shoes so you could pirouette like there's no tomorrow? well, you time has come! with a smaller group of students, and under the careful supervision of the teacher, you'll start by simply going on-pointe, then start moving on them and using them as extensions of your own feet. this 45-minute class can seem long at the beginning, because the road to pointework is not an easy-breezy one, but those who try it end up with starry eyes and have sweet dreams at night. for this class, you need pointe shoes and you need to sew them before class! all the details here.
MOYENNES POINTES CLASS
You're starting to feel pretty comfortbale on pointe? Time for Moyenne Pointes! Here we'll start leaving the barre behind, we try pirouettes, adages and we'll give ourselves choreography challenges, and we'll feel like real prima ballerinas! :) for this class, you need pointe shoes and you need to sew them before class! all the details here.
our choreography class is pure dancing fun. every week, we learn a new choreography and we try a different style, just for the sake of it! No prerequisites, no pressure and of course, no end-of-year show! you'll still see benefits: memory, coordination, balance, and it's the perfect occasion to try all the ballet moves you learned in class!
a dancer needs three things: a clear mind, strong muscles and a flexible body. find all of that here!
CORPS DE BALLET CLASS
CORPS DE BALLET is a 60-minute flow that uses ballet movements to improve your strength (especially core!), flexibility and cardio. this class is perfect for you if you'd like to strengthen and tonify your body, get leaner, longer, muscles and maybe even achieve that split of yours! This class also gives great basics for a technical class. if you want to learn the ballet movements without thinking too much, and if you want to get ballerina strong, corps de ballet is exactly what you need.
Everyone knows that flexibility is a ballet must. but it's also a normal life must! that's where our stretch class comes into light. with dynamic and static stretching exercises thought by an expert in the matter, our stretch class will help with your posture, help eliminate back aches and round backs, pull your spine up as well as improve your movement amplitude, whether it's to tie your shoes without sitting or to lift your leg up to the ceiling! come work on all muscular groups and feeel the improvement and ease in your ballet classes. well-being and smooth breathing included. .
FLOOR BARRE CLASS
floor barre is simply the barre... on the floor! BARRE AU SOL, C'EST SIMPLEMENT LA BARRE... AU SOL! laying down for most of the class, you'll be able to work on your technique, strenght and flexibility, all froma different angle, in a soothing musical flow. but beware! soothing and hard-working can - and do - go together in this class. Burning muscles, elongated body and calm mind, what a combination!
